More than 1 month before check-in – 100% deposit refunded.
More than 7 days before check-in – 50% deposit refunded.
Less than 7 days before check-in – 0% deposit refunded.

Refundable Breakage Deposit (after departure) – The Refundable Breakage Deposit will be refunded within 5 days of your departure less any breakages and damages that might have occurred.
An R 650.00 departure cleaning fee will also be added to the total bill upon check-out.
Guests must check-in between 14:00 and 22:00 and check out between 8:00 and 10:00.
Guests that invite Day Visitors – Day visitors will be required to sign a Day Visitor Indemnity Form.
Children are welcome. Young children must be under the supervision of their parents at all times.
No stag or hen groups.
No matriculation parties.
No bachelor parties.
NO PETS are allowed under any circumstances.
Noise Policy – Idwala View (Idwala 124) is situated in the Mabalingwe Nature Reserve. Property lines, privacy, and the quiet enjoyment of neighbors must be respected at all times, with “quiet hours” observed between 10 PM and 10 AM. Increased occupancy, vehicle traffic, excessive noise, or illegal activity, will result in eviction, and the forfeiture of all prepaid rentals. 10 AM to 10 PM – Low Noise Levels and Soft Music (for your ears only) – no loud music at all. 10 PM to 10 AM – No Noise and No Music
Smoking is only allowed in some of the open-air areas.
Parking for all guests is available on site and is free of charge. No more than 4 cars.
Free WIFI • Free Netflix, ShowMax, DSTV, and DSTVNow.
As the house is situated in a Nature Reserve, all persons using the house will have to sign an indemnity form which will be emailed on receipt of the deposit.
Please note the lodge can comfortably sleep up to 8 adults and 4 children.
Please note that baboons, monkeys, and various other animals roam freely. Keep all doors and windows securely closed and locked when out, not in sight, or when checking out. Failure to do so, resulting in the baboons, monkeys, or animals gaining access to the house will result in the loss of the whole breakage deposit as well as being charged for any other damage incurred by the baboons. monkeys or animals.
Strictly no flying of drones.
Load Shedding – Inverter-based (quiet) power back-up for some essentials (water) during load shedding. Gas stove and gas geysers. Solar and emergency lighting.
Idwala View Terms and Conditions
A 50% deposit is required within 48 hours of receiving this invoice to secure your booking.
A levy of R150.00 per extra person per night will be added if the quote was done for a specified number of guests and more guests are added.

LEASE AGREEMENT, TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR THE RENTAL OF IDWALA VIEW (IDWALA 124)
Refundable Breakage Deposit – The breakage deposit will be refunded within 5 (five) working days after departure if no breakages have occurred or any damages have been caused or any other claim or penalty has been incurred as a result of the tenant or his quest’s behavior. The Lessee is required to provide a security deposit that will be retained until our staff has completed an inventory and inspection of the premises following your vacancy at Idwala View (Idwala 124). Should they find Idwala View (Idwala 124) excessively dirty or notate that items are missing or damaged, the cost of additional cleaning hours and/or the cost of repair or replacement of the property will be deducted from your deposit. The remainder of your deposit that is not applied to these expenses will be refunded to you within 5 (five) days following your departure from the premises providing all other financial obligations have been met. The Lessee remains responsible for and will be charged for, the cost of any damage, repair, or replacement in excess of the refundable breakage deposit, including any invoice associated with your occupancy that is subsequently presented.
Responsible Party – All fees, charges, and applicable taxes associated with the property rental are the responsibility of the Lessee. Bookings for Grade 12 vacation celebrations, vacationing student groups, school children, or noise intensive parties are not allowed under any circumstances. Reservations made under false pretenses will be subject to forfeiture of all deposits and rent and your occupancy will be terminated.
Booking Confirmation & Rental Payment – Reservations booked are confirmed when 50% of the total rental fee is received (within 48 hours of booking); the remaining balance is due 7 days before occupancy.
Early Vacating – Prepaid rent and associated fees are not refunded in the event you vacate the premises prior to the scheduled date of departure.
Pricing – Reservations are confirmed at the rates in effect on the date the booking is made. We reserve the right to correct oversights, omissions, and clerical errors. In the event an adjustment of this nature increases the cost of your booking, you will be given the option to accept the revised reservation or terminate it with no penalty.
Property Use & Responsibility – You become responsible for the security of Idwala View (Idwala 124) and all of its contents upon check-in and remain responsible until you vacate and complete the check-out at the conclusion of your stay. Idwala View (Idwala 124) is inspected and its contents inventoried prior to each guest’s arrival. You are financially responsible for any and all losses or damage due to your occupancy and while in your possession. Idwala View (Idwala 124) is to be used as a personal holiday rental residence only – You shall not assign or sublet said premises or any part thereof. You agree to abide by all local rules and regulations and all Mabalingwe Nature Reserve covenants or conditions pertaining to this rental unit. Failure to comply with these rules and regulations shall be cause for our termination of this agreement.

Occupancy Limitations – Idwala View (Idwala 124) has specific occupancy limits and rules of conduct that must be strictly enforced. The number of adults and children (12 people maximum) that will occupy Idwala View (Idwala 124) must be stated at the time of booking.
Inviting Day Visitors – We must be notified if you are planning to invite day visitors, Day visitors will be required to sign a Day Visitor Indemnity Form.
Rental of Game Viewing Vehicle – The Game Viewing Vehicle can only be driven by a licensed driver over the age of 25. The vehicle is not allowed on any of the 4 x 4 routes (marked in red on the game viewing map) as well as any of the other routes marked in red on the game viewing map. The vehicle is not allowed outside the Reserve. The vehicle is strictly for the use of the tenants of Idwala View (Idwala 124) only. Separate vehicle rental forms will be sent when booking the vehicle. Strictly no more than 12 people in the vehicle including driver and children on laps. It is your responsibility to report any obvious flaws prior to your first drive. You can send a What’s App listing the flaws and it can be accompanied with photographs as well. Failure to adhere to the rules will result in the loss of the full breakage deposit. Any additional costs like towing costs and any damage of any sort will also be for your own account.
Refund for Game Viewing Vehicle (if you booked it and then decide not to use it) – Fuel, Cleaning, and Preparation fee of R300 payable.
Property Suitability – Review all property amenities, specifications, and unique characteristics, including environmental conditions, to verify that Idwala View (Idwala 124) will be suitable before booking. Guests with mobility challenges or those traveling with children are specifically advised to discuss concerns or requirements with us as you will not be able to change homes upon arrival.
Housekeeping – Idwala View (Idwala 124) is thoroughly cleaned between guests. This will be charged separately as a Prep & Departure Clean fee. If you wish for more frequent cleaning, additional housekeeping may be scheduled for an additional charge. Excessively littered and/or dirty conditions at check-out will result in extended housekeeping hours and will be charged to your refundable breakage deposit. Should it be necessary to clean carpets, remove stains, repaint, repair finishes, or replace furnishings, textiles, or housewares, you will be charged for labor, materials, and merchandise, plus a 20% service and handling fee. You are responsible for the proper use and operation of all appliances and fixtures within Idwala View (Idwala 124) and to keep the same in a clean condition. You are responsible for and will be charged for, any repair or replacement expense that results from failure to comply with these stipulations. You are responsible for and will be charged for, any elimination of drain blockages caused by improper use of plumbing fixtures.
Amenities – Idwala View (Idwala 124) is furnished with towels, swimming towels, bed linens, and a small supply of paper products and soap. Contact us for additional details or assistance to make your stay more comfortable.
Check-in – You may check in any time after 2 PM on the date of arrival. Key access, driving directions, emergency contacts, and check-out information is provided prior to your arrival via e-mail. Following check-in, it is essential that you notify us promptly if anything seems amiss at the home. Also, it is important that you review the information in the house manual, as it contains important property details, operating instructions, and emergency procedures. DO NOT operate televisions, or electronic devices until you have reviewed the associated instructions. Improper operation may impair performance or reception and result in a chargeable service call.
Check-out – On your check-out day, the premises must be vacated by 10 AM unless a later check-out has been pre-approved (a charge does apply). All rubbish is to be bagged and placed in the tamper-proof containment area. Please place dirty dishes in the dishwasher and return any moved furniture to its original location before you leave. Please ensure that all doors are locked and windows are closed on departure. Please return house keys to the key safe and make sure the safe is locked.
Key Return – If all provided keys are not returned to the key safe at check-out, concerns for property security make it necessary for us to immediately re-key Idwala View (Idwala 124). You will be charged for the cost of this emergency service. You agree to not duplicate keys provided, or to change locks at any time.
Personal Property – All personal property you bring to Idwala View (Idwala 124) and Mabalingwe Nature Reserve shall be your responsibility and we are not liable for any damage to or loss of such property. We are not responsible for any personal items left at Idwala View (Idwala 124) or Mabalingwe Nature Reserve upon vacating and such items can only be returned by shipment at your expense.
Right of Access – You will allow the Owner or a vendor access to the unit for inspections and/or repairs with a two-hour notice. In the event of an emergency, we or the repair company has the right to enter the unit without notice for the purpose of emergency repairs.
Hold Over – If you cause an unauthorized holdover of your rental unit, you will be charged one and one-half times the daily prorated rent, plus any additional damages incurred including, but not limited to, the cost of alternative housing for an incoming guest displaced by such holdover.
Security, Baboons & Monkeys – Please use the safes in the bedrooms and bathrooms for valuables. When you are not at Idwala View (Idwala 124) or are sleeping, please ensure that all doors are locked and windows are closed to prevent baboons and monkeys from entering.
Videofied Security Cameras – There are security cameras around the house (they all point outward so as not to invade any privacy). Do not tamper with or unplug the control panel. These are not surveillance cameras. It is more of an alarm system. These cameras sense when there is movement going past them and will send an alarm and a short video clip to security. Security checks the video to see if it is an animal or a person. You are registered with security at the main gate, so security will only come out if the movement looks suspicious and they cannot get a clear picture.
Swann Security Cameras – There are 4 cameras at entry points to the house for additional security. These are my own cameras and do not record videos or send out alerts. If you are uncomfortable about the Swann Security Cameras, you can switch them off at their plug points, but please remember to switch on again on departure.
Reolink Security Cameras – There is a security camera at the game viewing vehicle and then one at the front of the pool deck pointing to the dam so I can see which animals come to drink there. These send alerts to the homeowner.
No Smoking – Smoking inside Idwala View (Idwala 124) is prohibited. If tobacco odor is noted on check out, an R1000 penalty charge will apply in addition to additional cleaning and fumigation costs.
Smoking is only allowed outside and all cigarette butts have to be properly disposed of and not just thrown around.
Environmental Precautions – Renters are advised that Idwala View (Idwala 124) has, or is in proximity to, structural or environmental circumstances that could pose physical hazards. These may include but are not limited to, rocky terrain, jacuzzi’s, swimming pools, steep slopes, cliffs, interior, and exterior stairways, terraces and decks, slippery conditions, fireplaces, sharp objects, noxious plants, insects, and wild animals. We request that you ask us about specific hazards before booking. Do not book Idwala View (Idwala 124) if you believe there may be a condition that poses an unusual risk to any member of your party. You hereby release the homeowner, the Mabalingwe 1 Trustees, and the Mabalingwe Nature Reserve from all personal safety risks and liability associated with Idwala View (Idwala 124) and Mabalingwe Nature Reserve. All guests staying at Idwala View (Idwala 124) are required to fill in and sign an indemnity form. Parents of underage children must fill in and sign these forms on their behalf.
Admission – Admission to the Nature Reserve and the use of the premises is subject to the Rules and Regulations of Mabalingwe Nature Reserve (of which the lessee confirms he has acquainted himself). The right of admission is reserved by Mabalingwe Nature Reserve.
No Pets – No pets or domestic animals will be allowed on the Reserve.
Feeding of any animals – Not allowed.
Children Are Welcome – Young children must be under the supervision of their parents or an adult at all times.
Parking – Parking available for no more than 4 vehicles. Content – Furniture, cutlery, crockery, or any other contents of Idwala View may not be removed from the property.
Drone Flying – Strictly not allowed.
Speed limit – on the Main road is 40km/h and on Game Viewing & Camp roads strictly 20km/h.
Cycling, Jogging & Walking – Not practiced on The Mabalingwe Nature Reserve, but if being done it will be at own risk.
Swimming – Restricted to swimming pools only. Environment – Keep the environment clean and use the dustbins provided.
Neighbors & Public – Do not cause or commit any disturbance, annoyance, or discomfort to neighbors or the public.
Respect – Respect all animals, trees, plants, and birds and do not take them out of their natural environment, which includes: fishing, hunting, and the collection of firewood.
Firearms – The use of any firearm, air rifle, pistol, gas-propelled or gas-powered arms, bow and arrow, slingshot, fireworks, or any other potentially hazardous or dangerous weapon is strictly prohibited.
Failure to comply with any of the conditions of this agreement will entitle the owner to cancel this agreement with immediate effect in which event you will still be liable for the full amount payable in terms of the Lease, apart from any damages.
Notwithstanding whether these terms and conditions have been signed, payment of the deposit will be regarded as acceptance of these conditions and will constitute an agreement between the Lessee, Idwala View (Idwala 124), and the homeowner. No amendment of this agreement shall have any force or effect unless it has been agreed in writing.
DOMICILIUM CITANDI ET EXECUTANDI
The Lessee’s domicilium citandi et executandi shall be the address reflected on the booking confirmation form. The Lessee shall be liable for cost on an attorney and client scale should any legal action arise from this agreement.
The Lessee hereby irrevocably abandon any action and/or right to claim against Idwala View (Idwala 124), the Mabalingwe 1 Trustees, Mabalingwe Nature Reserve, the homeowner, agent, employees, partners, officers, or managers for any damages suffered by him/herself, dependents, executors, heirs, successors, employees, associates or anybody whosoever resulting from personal injury or damages to property or for any appliance being out of order, whether directly or indirectly caused through the negligence or otherwise of Idwala View (Idwala 124), the Mabalingwe 1 Trustees, Mabalingwe Nature Reserve, the owner, agent, employees, partners, officers or managers. The Lessee hereby irrevocably indemnify Idwala View (Idwala 124), the Mabalingwe 1 Trustees, Mabalingwe Nature Reserve, the owner, agent, employees, partners, officers, or managers against any claim instituted resulting from any of the above-mentioned incidents whether such claim is instituted by any occupants, its dependents, executors, heirs, successors, employees, employers, associates or anybody whosoever.
